Selangor has more bowling shops than any other state. The bowling shops in Selangor include the busy Sunway Megalanes Pro Shop at Sunway Pyramid, three Storm VIP outlets in Shah Alam, Setia Alam and Selayang, and the X Proshop office and web store in Subang Jaya. Sunway is the only one that confirms drilling online, so call the others before you go.

Which centres the shops sit in
Almost every shop here works from inside a bowling centre. That's handy, because you can try the new ball straight away. Sunway Mega Lanes, a 48-lane centre at Sunway Pyramid, hosts the largest shop. Its pro shop page lists drilling, filling and re-drilling, and claims 25 years of combined experience among its drillers. In addition, The Star reported in February 2026 that former national head coach Holloway Cheah runs a pro shop business at Sunway Mega Lanes with his daughter Esther. We couldn't confirm whether that is the same counter.
Federal Proshop has two Selangor outlets: one at Alam Lanes in AEON Mall Shah Alam and one at Setia City Mall. Meanwhile, Selayang Proshop serves the north side from Selayang Mall. An older shop called Goldfinger also used that mall, but its blog stopped in 2018. For lane details and game prices at each centre, see our bowling alleys in Selangor guide.
Brunswick and Hammer: X Proshop
X Proshop, run by JNJ Distribution, handles Brunswick, Hammer, Ebonite, DV8, Radical and Track. Its office sits in Taman Perindustrian Subang and opens on weekdays only, so treat it as a web store rather than a drilling counter. The company says its first store opened at U Bowl, 1 Utama. However, we couldn't confirm that the 1 Utama counter still operates, so phone 012-923 0803 first.
What to expect at a fitting
Book a time, because drillers at bowling shops in Selangor are often busiest on league nights. Then bring the following:
- Your current ball, if you have one, so the driller can copy or correct the span.
- A note of the house ball weight you use now.
- Any wrist support you wear, since it changes how you hold the ball.
- Your average and how often you bowl. These help the driller pick a layout.
After drilling, throw a few frames and go back if anything pinches. Small fixes such as tape or a thumb bevel are normal. Our drilling layouts guide explains the choices you'll hear about.
Nearby alternatives and buying tips
If none of these suit you, two Storm VIP outlets sit at Endah Parade in Sri Petaling; see bowling shops in Kuala Lumpur. Federal Proshop also has a branch at IOI City Mall, listed under Putrajaya but inside Sepang district.
On price, Sunway's 2026 starter packs bundle a Brunswick TZone, a bag and shoes for RM560 to RM679, with free drilling. Also, buying the ball where you drill it usually saves the drilling fee. For a side-by-side look at every state, go back to our pro shop directory.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy a bowling ball in Selangor?
The best-documented option is the Sunway Megalanes Pro Shop at Sunway Pyramid, which has a large stock and an online store. Storm VIP outlets also operate at AEON Shah Alam, Setia City Mall and Selayang Mall. For Brunswick, Hammer and Ebonite, X Proshop in Subang Jaya sells online and can point you to a counter.
Which pro shop in Selangor drills bowling balls?
Sunway Megalanes confirms ball drilling, filling and re-drilling on its own pro shop page. The other Selangor outlets sell Storm balls, but their listings don't mention drilling. Most centre pro shops in Malaysia do drill, so it's likely, but call and ask before you bring a ball in.
How much does ball drilling cost in Selangor?
Drilling is usually free when you buy the ball at the shop. Sunway's starter packs, priced at RM560 and RM679 in October 2026, include free drilling but not inserts. We found no current Selangor price for drilling an outside ball, so ask for a quote first.
Do Selangor pro shops sell bowling shoes and bags?
Yes. Sunway's web store lists 3G, MaxRise and other shoes, plus totes and rollers. X Proshop stocks Dexter, Brunswick and XTECH shoes and bags, with entry shoes from about RM160 and single-ball totes from about RM58 in 2026.
