A year later, at the 2019 SEA Games in Manila, he won men's team of four gold with Rafiq Ismail, Tun Hakim and Timmy Tan. He also took mixed doubles silver with Siti Safiyah.

World Cup team gold in 2025

In January 2025 he helped Malaysia win the men's team title at the IBF World Cup in Hong Kong. The final against Puerto Rico went to five games. After trailing in the second and fourth, Malaysia won the decider 227-161 for a 3-2 victory. It was Malaysia's first men's team gold at the event.

Ahmad Muaz also took on an off-lane role. MTBC's current council listing shows him as a co-opted councillor, alongside national coach Wendy Chai.
