Kuching: a tournament city

Batu Kawa is where serious Sarawak bowling happens. Megalanes Sarawak was upgraded for Sukma 2024. Then it hosted the IBF World Youth Championships from 27 June to 7 July 2026, where Malaysia won two golds; read our report on the Kuching world youth event. It also runs the Hornbill Team Cup each January and the Sarawak International Open.

Next, bowling at the 34th SEA Games runs at the same centre from 18 to 27 September 2027. Our bowling competitions calendar tracks these dates. As a result, expect lane closures during big events, so check before a casual visit.

For casual games, Kuching has two older centres. Riverside Superbowl is in the city centre. We found no lane news since 2018, but Google reviews from 2026 show it open. It also has a pro shop. Megalanes at King's Leisure Complex was done up in recent years. Reviewers in 2025 paid RM15 a game, or RM60 a lane for an hour.

Miri, Bintulu and Sibu

Megalanes East in Miri hosted the Sarawak International Skills Challenge in May 2025. Listings disagree on its address, Bintang Megamall or Miri Times Square, so check before you drive. Megalanes Bintulu at Parkcity Commerce Square has no official page. Still, Google reviewers in 2026 rate it 4.7 out of 5.

Sibu Superbowl on Jalan Perpati opened in 1995 and closed on 7 November 2022, the Borneo Post reported. It was the town's only alley, and we found no replacement.
